Mentors and Coaches

Many people choose to nominate a person as a mentor or coach, this would typically be someone whom you know well and who knows your personality. Your mentor should be someone who encourages you, conveying a positive can do attitude and providing energy-giving optimism. Your mentor will believe in you and will therefore help you to believe in yourself. Encouragement is something that you will need throughout the job search process.

Where your sponsor has paid for the job help line service, you will have access to support staff, who will help you and also be there to encourage you and to listen to you. They can be extremely helpful, especially if you are feeling lonely and unable to talk to others about your job loss. Their role is to be a constant, reliable and sympathetic ear. In addition they can also provide practical help in finding new employment.
